Introducing The Mens Jewelry Line
I decided to launch a collection for men in response to regular requests for men’s bracelets. What surprised me the most was how essential the designs and their details were to the audience. The combination of metals, the selection of stones their placement, and the overall design plays a significant role.
It has been a true joy for me to design and create these pieces. This journey has challenged me as a designer to step outside my comfort zone, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the results.
A Bit About Myself
I am a self-taught jewelry designer who once aspired to be a fashion designer. If you had told me years ago that I would be making jewelry, I would have never believed it. I was born and raised in Brooklyn/Queens, New York, with Panamanian/Jamaican roots, studying the arts was frowned upon. However, I always had a flair and passion for fashion. My Grandmother, Queen and my Mother, Carlota her middle name (Charlotte in english) were my style influencers. Hence the name House of Queen Charlotte.
Life took me abroad, first to Bermuda and then to England, where my journey began. Bermuda opened my eyes to the world of travel and introduced me to many globetrotters, while living in England allowed me to pause and truly find and refine my craft, as they understand the importance of work-life balance. During my time in England, I also had an opportunity to explore Europe, return and design jewelry that inspired me from my visit.
I have thoroughly enjoyed immersing myself in diverse cultures, people, and places, and theses experiences are reflected in my designs. No matter where one is in the world, there’s always someone who seeks that special something that evokes a cherished memory of a person, place, or event, why not let it be a piece of jewelry. This is the essence of the HQC MAN; he is on his own journey, creating memories, traveling the world, reaching for the stars, and never accepting no for an answer. When you wear a piece from HQC Man, it ignites conversation and sparks curiosity about what lies ahead for both him and you.
